Born in Slovakia, a country layered with history and culture, Judit Nagy L. grew up viewing life as a vast tapestry of possibility. Her early passion for creativity flourished in art schools and private workshops, shaping her unique perspective. However, her life took an unexpected turn, leading her to study civil engineering. She earned a Master’s degree, built a family, and launched entrepreneurial ventures. Yet, despite these achievements, Judit felt an absence in her life—a longing for art.
At a pivotal moment, Judit set out on the Camino de Santiago, an 800-kilometer pilgrimage across Spain. This profound journey became a turning point, reigniting her creative spirit and inspiring her to embrace art once more. Now based in Switzerland, Judit has developed her “IVVArt – In Vino Veritas Art Method ©,” an innovative process that combines materials such as wine, earth, and homeopathically infused paints, resulting in deeply personal and evocative works.
The Artistic Vision of Judit Nagy L.
“Rise Like a Phoenix”
Mixed Media on Canvas – 65 W x 105 H x 1.5 D cm
In “Rise Like a Phoenix,” Judit reinterprets the legendary phoenix as a symbol of transformation and renewal. The piece radiates a sense of rebirth, with the mythical creature depicted as an embodiment of ethereal fire. A burst of light on the phoenix’s back—an exploded star—symbolizes the creation of the Nebula of Love, representing a higher state of existence achieved through vulnerability and growth.
The artwork is rich with texture and movement, created using Judit’s signature combination of materials. The inclusion of wine and earth imbues the piece with a tactile, grounded quality, connecting the viewer to its organic essence. The color palette—a vibrant interplay of reds, oranges, and golds—captures the warmth of fire and the boundlessness of the cosmos.
The phoenix itself is depicted as luminous yet delicate, reflecting the cyclical process of personal and spiritual transformation. This piece calls viewers to consider their capacity for renewal, encouraging them to embrace love and openness as transformative forces.
“The Hymn of Rebirth”
Mixed Media, Acrylic on Acrylic – 78.5 W x 108.5 H x 5 D cm
“The Hymn of Rebirth” takes viewers on a contemplative exploration of existence and the interplay between seen and unseen forces. Featured in Judit’s trilingual book, CORPUS HERMETICUM (Another Way), the artwork stands as both a visual and philosophical narrative.
The layered composition, created with acrylic and mixed media, offers a textured surface that feels almost three-dimensional. The tension between light and shadow creates a celestial atmosphere, evoking the mysteries of the universe. Each detail invites closer inspection, encouraging the viewer to uncover hidden meanings within the piece.
Judit describes this work as an attempt to capture the dynamics that shape the inner and outer worlds. The interplay of colors and forms reflects the constant balancing act of existence. A streak of light slicing through the canvas symbolizes clarity amidst life’s complexities.
By merging resonance gouache with homeopathic elements, Judit infuses the painting with a sense of harmony and depth. This is a work that doesn’t simply hang on a wall; it engages the viewer, asking them to reflect on their own connections to the forces that shape their lives.
