Judit Nagy L. is an artist born in Slovakia. Her artistic journey began at a tender age, sketching away in kindergarten. While many might have seen her as destined for a life in the arts, fate had a different plan. Judit pursued a Master’s degree in civil engineering, built a family, and even ventured into the entrepreneurial world with her own small business. But, as they say, life has a way of coming full circle.

Turning the pages of her life, we find a pivotal moment when she embarked on the Camino pilgrimage in Spain for her 40th birthday. The 800 km journey, reminiscent of transformational tales we see in films, breathed new life into Judit. It was here, amidst the winding paths and soul-searching moments, that she found the courage to rekindle her passion for art.

Today, Judit calls Switzerland home, where she has crafted her own distinctive artistic approach. Her unique mixed media process, known as “IVVArt – In Vino Veritas Art Method ©,” is a testament to her innovative spirit. This method involves painting with unconventional materials such as wine, earth, resonance gouache, and even acrylic paints imbued with homeopathic information.

One of Judit’s works that exemplifies her emotional depth and artistic prowess is “LNJ_MARTIN TILLMANN_“The Presence of Absence“”. This mesmerizing piece, measuring 130x80cm, was created in 2023 and stands as a tribute to a poignant love story.

The inspiration behind this artwork is as touching as the piece itself. Judit stumbled upon a photograph posted by the late wife of the Swiss cellist and composer, Martin Tillmann. The image captured a moment of a resting virtuoso, and the caption expressed a wish to turn it into a painting for display at the Kunsthalle in Zurich. This heartfelt desire resonated deeply with Judit.

After obtaining permission from Martin Tillmann, Judit embarked on a creative journey that spanned 86 hours. Working with an almost frenetic energy, she poured her emotions into the canvas, layer by layer, bringing the photograph to life in her unique style. The result is a breathtaking piece that not only honors the memory of Ewa Tillmann but also encapsulates the timeless essence of love.

When asked about her hopes for the viewers of “The Presence of Absence,” Judit’s response is simple yet profound: LOVE. She believes that the intimate process of painting by hand allows her to infuse her energy into the artwork, creating a powerful connection with those who encounter it.

In choosing her medium, subject matter, and style, Judit emphasizes the importance of a hands-on approach. For her, painting is a deeply personal and intimate journey, where each stroke and layer contributes to the birth of a new artwork. She estimates that this organic process accounts for about 80% of her new works, showcasing her unwavering commitment to authenticity and emotional expression.

In conclusion, Judit Nagy L.’s artistic journey is a testament to the transformative power of passion, perseverance, and love. From her early beginnings in Slovakia to her current life in Switzerland, she has embraced her artistic soul and continues to inspire others with her unique creations. Through her “IVVArt” method and heartfelt tributes like “The Presence of Absence,” Judit invites us to experience the world through her eyes, where every artwork tells a story and every stroke speaks volumes.
