Taylor Swift will be the focus of a new “trail” called “Taylor Swift: The Songbook Trail” at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A). The exhibit, on view July 27-September 8, is inspired by the 34-year-old singer-songwriter’s storied career, from first moving to Nashville at age 14 to her global fame.

Following the UK leg of Swift’s “Eras” tour, “Taylor Swift: The Songbook Tour” will take visitors through the pop icon’s life through visual culture, divided into 13 themed “stations” throughout the museum. “. Swift’s clothing, awards, musical instruments and other objects will be in dialogue with the V&A’s architecture and collections. Memorable outfits from Swift’s career will be featured, from the cowboy boots she wore during her country music days to the black ruffled dress from her music video for “Fortnight,” the lead single from her latest album. tortured poets department.

“We are delighted to be showcasing a range of Taylor Swift’s iconic looks at the V&A this summer,” Kate Bailey, senior curator of theater and performance, said in a press release. “Taylor Swift’s songs tell stories like objects, often drawn from art, history and literature. We hope this theatrical route through the museum will inspire curious visitors to learn more about the performer, her creativity and the V&A’s Collection.

In addition to Swift’s famous costumes, the V&A will also display a collection of storyboards and archival material from Swift’s childhood.
